I wanted more than anything to get out of my house. Other than the clinic, I haven't left home in over a month. A friends mom offered to cut my hair for me and I did it. My hair is falling out by the handfuls and takes so much out of me to take care of, so off with it. The picture on the right of my page was taken less than a year ago. The first picture is my before and the last is, of course, the after. Not only can you see my hair but my weight loss is evident.
Now, back to the weekend. So exhausting. It took me all day Sat to recover from Fri and then it was bed time. But I wanted Sunday to happen so I just went with it. Sun I got up, felt pretty good, took a shower and then rested till it was time to go. All in all, pretty good. I packed a bag change kit and a change of clothes, just in case. As soon as the haircut was over, I ended up in the bathroom at my friends house changing a leaky bag. I made a horrible mess of her poor bathroom. It took me forever to get everything cleaned up. We had been there less than 3 hours, I told Jim what happened and that I was fresh out of any supplies. Within an hour we left. On the way to the car, the second bag broke. I sat still on the way home and because I had been taking the pills more often, it wasn't pouring out of the bag. I got home, got in the house, changed the bag again and found that the acid had burned my skin everywhere. Whole tummy hurts now. I am back to the area around the stoma that the bag adheres to being nothing but blood. So frustrating. I think I've been through 9 bags in the last 4 days!! Considering I only get 20 a month and the damn things cost about $8 each I either have to get this figured out or have the reversal surgery.
Speaking of the reversal, my Dr called back this morning and let me know that he sees no reason why we cant bump this forward a few weeks, He does want to confer with Dr MacGregor, who did the last surgery first and he will call me back in a few days. I hope that goes well.
